The first capital of Ohio has managed to keep its charm, while growing in population, industry and opportunities. Residents enjoy a downtown rich in history, and a county abundant with historical and recreational opportunities. There are five state parks within a 30-minute drive of the city, in addition to state memorials, historical landscapes, hiking and biking paths, the nationally known outdoor drama "Tecumseh!" and the Chillicothe Paints baseball team.
Education is a priority in the Ross County area. Ohio University maintains a campus here, and Daymar College offers a variety of degrees at its Chillicothe campus. It's also a shopping magnet for south-central Ohio, and its state-of-the art medical center attracts notable doctors from around the country.
